Congratulations on conquering the 20th century. As suggested by Spence, here is the 19th century version. Let's see if between us we can post 100 different coins from 100 different issuers for each year of the 19th century (thats 1801-1900). By issuer I mean any country/territory/state/etc that has it's own coins. That's only 1 coin from a particular issuer and only 1 coin from each year 1801-1900. You guys know how it works... You must own the coin. You cannot post two coins in a row (i.e. someone else has to post before you can post again). Post an invalid coin and you will leave yourself open to barbs from your fellow participants. I'll get things started with this 1853 2 reales from Spain. Weird question: What about coins issued with No Date? Example is a Japanese 2 Bu electrum with obviously no date on it. Do we then just choose a "fill-in" date to represent that year, such as 1859? Or would you rather us stick with dated coins or coins that are pinned down to just one year?

Maybe for the next round we could try the 20th century again, but only coins with less than a certain mintage, a million maybe. Just a thought.

As I did in the 20th century thread, I'm going to use a coin I already posted before: U.S. 1878 dime (Coinstar find).
