I have several of the coins above.
I have read about the number of steps going up to the building as being between 0 and 3. I have a few with 2 or 3 steps on them. Most I can't see steps at all. Is there a difference in value?
Also I have one that has about a 3 mm hole drilled in the top of it, I assume so someone could wear it as a necklace? Can someone tell me what sort of impact that has on value please?
I don't know the condition on all of them.im thinking about good but not sure.
Many thanks
Tony

Yes the more clear steps the better. The early minted coins had the steps along with the proof Coins.
Apparently the Mint reduced die-pressure to stop the dies cracking early on in the minting process so vast majority of the mintage don't have all the steps.
Holed coins are usually melt value only unless you can find a specific buyer.
The 1927 PH Florin has enjoyed a resurgence the last few years, average egs. have gone from A$5-10 to around $20.

Thanks Basil.
Except for the number of steps are there any other idiosyncratic marks or errors in the minting to keep an eye out for?
Cheers

Early mint with the die cracks attract a premium but otherwise its just the steps.
Wear on the high points, especially the reverse is another flag to watch out for before buying.
Good Luck.

The two flagpoles are another indicator of strike quality.
