The August releases are now available on the Mint's web site.

There's another I-Can't-Believe-They-Call-It-A-Coin offering included: 5 oz. Pure Silver Coin - The Dragonfly and the Bloom.. No doubt an interesting piece, but - to me - it's not a coin from any practical perspective.

Excuse my ignorance, out of curiosity, why is the mint charging tax on this Dragonfly coin? I thought that all pure silver is tax free?

This will explain:

On the coin's reverse, the 3D dragonfly and water lily are each cast in sterling silver and plated with yellow gold, evoking the sun's warm rays.

Added:
There is a crystal as well, however, not sure if due to single small crystal alone, this item would be considered as non-pure silver, but sterling silver definitively adds to it.

Thank you silveroid for your insight. This makes sense but imo I think tax should be proportional and not charged on the whole value of the coin.

How do you guys think about the 3D R&D lab coin, would it be another hit like the flying loon one?

Too high a mintage at 2500 to become a hit. Remember the flying Loon was only 425 mintage and was very difficult to get, thus driving up the cost for those that can't get it. It was also the first of its kind.

The new Howling Wolf has not sold out even though it has been available for more than a week to MC members.

It fact, the whole NCLT coin market is in the doldums as almost nothing has sold out recently, barring some expensive low mintage items.

There is no such thing as a "hit" anymore. Buy only what you like. Don't expect any price appreciation.

Lots of misses in there!..
I'll pick up the Zodiac Snake, since I'm working on this new Zodiac series - wish there was a case available for this series.
And the Eliz M wrapped rolls, since I'm a sucker for Special-Wrapped rolls.

Going to be an easy month for my card

@mikem: Nice to see there are a few coins for your collection in the latest Mint release. Nothing for me this round.

.

Agreed. However, I still got it. Let's see how that goes. Hopefully, it will become a series.

As a collector, I will blame the mint, since they don't control the mintage well. When you know that if you buy coins from the mint, then 90% possibility you will lose your money when you resale it, I just don't have the motivation to buy from the mint. I will rather search in ebay for the one I like.
