I was just wondering if anyone could give me some information on the silver maple leafs with the f15 privy. Is the f15 privy a yearly thing? is it part of a series? Are they making a 2018 sml with f15 privy? What are the mintages like with the f15 privy?

Hi aperwin22, the F15 is a privy that is done for a german coin company called MDM (or at least they say so). This is a yearly release with 15 different coins called "Fabulous 15". Acutally I think they started with 12 and an F12 privy. These are nice coins and usually heavy overpriced, but it seems there is a market for it. IMO interesting to know, not every coin of the collection bears the privy mark! Good luck!

This is interesting info, thank you, Pixu I clearly remember, that for sure in the 2011, 2012, 2013 these sets have been offered for the Canadian market as well. 2012 and 2013 - mintage 10000 RCM price was CAD 98.95 After subscription ended, the 2012 and 2013 have been available as singles at the dealers places. In addition: 2011-2012 the coin had beautiful Reverse Proof (satin) finish, while 2013 and later - regular bullion finish. The coins (at least for those years) suffered as many SMLs from the risk of the 'milk spots' see this picture:  the original capsule might be nice looking, but it not air tight at all. When I created mine 'Fab15' set, I replaced these square capsules for round 'air-tites'.

thanks pixu that is interesting. So does the RCM make the silver maple leafs with the f15 privy then sending to that mdm to be placed into that silver collection. Would anyone know where I could find silver maple leafs from 2015, 2016, 2107,and 2018 with the f15 privy? Thanks |

Here is an overview of the 2015 collection of 15 coins including the Maple Leaf... I did never see that RCM is selling it directly.  |

I called MDM and a coin seller in Britain (who have the exclusive distribution rights on these coins) and they believe that the 2017 mintage is 500 pieces and the 2018 mintage is 250. I do not believe MDM will be carrying the 2019 F15 coin because demand and mintages are too low.

In fact, I'm not sure I've ever even seen a 2017, 2018 or 2019 F15 privy maple ...

I know this an old post, but I do collect all the SML privy's, but it is hard to get a good listing or mintage for a lot of them. Wiki has a good, but not complete listing, but I don't know of any other. As for the "f15" series, I have all up to and including the 2020 and that is the only privy I've seen for 2020 from the RCM. Then I guess covid hit ,and if any other privy's were planned (Edison, Lunar, ANA series) they were cancelled with all the shut-downs. For 2021, 22 & 23 there has been nothing from the RCM that I am aware of? I see other "f15" coins from Ukraine & Australia for 2021, but none after that, so maybe that entire series is done? Now for 2024 the RCM has released their premium SML's now with privy marks, so maybe the privy's are returning? If anyone knows of any privy marked SML's from 2020 forward, please post them! Jim |

There haven't been any silver maple leafs since 2020 with privy marks, until this year with the 3 new ones. The fabulous 15 set has been issues the past 3 years but without the maple leaf contating the privy mark. Not sure why that changed. I'm happy to see the privys back on the maple leafs.

Fabulous 15 is a set of the most reconized 15 silver bullion coins world wide. I believe the set is sold from mdm wholesale from germany.
