I found this coin online and this looks like the real deal. The price is stunningly low. However, even though the title says uncleaned, the reverse looks like it may have been polished. It could just be the tint of the picture, because the obverse doesn't look cleaned at all. Any thoughts?

Definitely Close AM. There is a bit of green to the lower left of Lincoln's bust. That is corrosion which can happen quickly to cleaned coins. But otherwise poor lighting might be coloring the reverse.

@12319558.... My first thought, (in the pics) why are there 2 different backgrounds? If I were contemplating purchasing the coin, I'd ask the seller for clear/updated pics & what the return policy is.

Ok will do but I don't understand who you think this guy is lying. I know you have to be cautious but not many people that I have bought from on ebay are like that.

So he does not accept returns but it is protected by the ebay money back guaranteed policy. So if it is a scam I will be able to get my money back

A couple reasons.... the pics are of terrible quality & because of websites (such as Etsy) are mainly why I tend to be skeptical. Now, after looking at the ebay link you provided.... the seller has zero sales. Those are all red flags to me.

I know that is me being stupid and being too hopeful for a coin that is a scam. Thanks for steering me away from it or else I would have wasted my money

The color differences of the images makes me have a red flag showing?

Here's a couple of things to look at on this sale:

1. The background material is different in the two photos, strongly suggesting the coin in the second photo is different from the coin in the first.

2. This seller has 0 positive feedback. How likely is it that the first coin they decide to sell on ebay will be an extremely hard to find variety?

3. The bidder on this coin (there's only 1 so far) has more bid retractions over the last 12 months than total bids, which strongly suggests he's a shill bidder.

Way too many red flags on this sale to give it any consideration.
