I was also close to giving up on this too. After hundreds of errors, I lost track of how many attempts I made to finalize my order. I finally got my order to go through at 12:45. My order acknowledgment email also arrived without me ever getting the acknowledgment screen on the mint website. My confirmation email came in at 4:27 PM.
I am also wondering if this was an intentional slow-down on the part of the mint or if they are so inept they simply can't figure out how to get enough horsepower to make their servers efficient enough to for a release like this. They are a government agency, so perhaps they don't have the funds to "power up" for a single event.

Nope, there's always that unique label inside in case you want to return. That's right! Forgot about that. They probably have them in boxes with the flaps open then insert return slip, tape up and repeat 125k times. That would definitely explain some of the sloppy tape jobs I've seen in the past. If I get shipment confirmation by Friday I'll consider that a success.

I got not one, but two emails from the Mint this afternoon. I saw the pop-up notification and got excited!  First was the welcome to the Loyalty Program. Sure, this was my third purchase. Good news, but not the good news I wanted. Second was for the Christa McAuliffe dollar. Oh well. Still waiting.  |

Still no confirmation letter for me but they charged my credit card. Looking at the horror stories I'm happy I forgot when they went on sale. Being late meant I spent less than 10 minutes fighting the mint website.

with my experience with the loyalty program if the US Mint do it, it will happen after you purchase them or you haven't purchase enough to get it yet.

I literally have 7 pending orders right now: CC/O Morgans, D/S Morgans, P Morgan/Peace Dollar, 2021-W Type 2 Proof ASE, 2021-S Proof ASE (Type 1), 2021-W Burnished ASE (Type 2), and now the 2021 Reverse Proof ASE set. And of course I'm only 1 away from free shipping. This pre-orer ****-show makes me mad.

No shipping confirmation for me today. Hopefully tomorrow. If anyone does can you also post what time you completed your transaction or received the initial order acknowledgement email. Curious if they really do ship in order of first in first out.

Fortunately for me, this year I've managed to avoid all but one $4.95 shipping fee. For those that don't know how it works, enrollment shipments waive the $4.95 fee AND count towards your 3 shipments requirement for the loyalty program. This year I had two enrollment shipments in February, then a regular order of some of the '21 commemoratives. Boom, that's my 3, so all my backordered Morgans and Peace dollars, as well as any orders until EOY qualify for free shipping (which is nice considering the $$ load that will be dropped on my CC in Oct). So, Enrollments can pay off if you're dedicated to collecting annual sets: 1) Free shipping 2) Each enrollment shipment counts towards your 3 shipments for loyalty program (which then gets you free shipping on everything for the remainder of the calendar year -- A maxium savings of $14.85, but hey, every cent counts). This year with the pre-order/backorder shenannigans, it's obviously costing people a lot more than $14.85 in cases. 3) Peace of mind so you don't have remember to order or get into the U.S. Mint web site madness for a limited release / high demand product. Sorry for those of you getting gouged with shipping on your pre-order/backorder items.  No shipping notice yet for me on my ASE set, and status is still "Processing". |
