1963 Theodore Roosevelt Medallic Art Co.
.999 silver No 3

Edge number for this one is 4443 and is also written on the small box included. My third silver acquisition of this medal in silver. That does not include the silver "Process Set" posted elsewhere here. I am able to pair all three silver with a bronze version.

1876 Phila International Exhibition
Liberty Bell - Independence Hall
So-Called Dollar HK-26

From The National Park Service webpages.

The State House bell, now known as the Liberty Bell, rang in the tower of the Pennsylvania State House. Today, we call that building Independence Hall. Speaker of the Pennsylvania Assembly Isaac Norris first ordered a bell for the bell tower in 1751 from the Whitechapel Foundry in London. That bell cracked on the first test ring. Local metalworkers John Pass and John Stow melted down that bell and cast a new one right here in Philadelphia.

Short podcast from The National Park Service
https://www.nps.gov/inde/upload/12_...Bell_001.mp3

HK-26 (White Metal)
Shown with an original ragged blue ribbon and fairly large loop.
The white metal variety can be found commonly holed or not.
Also minted in Silver, Bronze, Gilt or Copper.
Was engraved by William H. Key, assistant engraver to William Barber.

1969 Martha Washington SCFC Sterling Silver Medal

Commissioned by the Societe Commemorative de Femmes Celebres. (SCFC)
One of the more popular issues in the set of 50 medals struck to honor famous women. I believe that 3,220 of these were minted in sterling silver.

Martha Washington

She had first married wealthy Daniel Parke Custis, with whom she had four children. Daniel was 20 years older than Martha and he died suddenly. Martha was widowed by the age of 25. George Washington probably knew both Martha and Daniel Parke Custis for some time before Daniel's death.

Martha became a rich young widow at age 25, with independent control over a dower inheritance for her lifetime, and trustee control over the inheritance of her minor children. She was left in custody of some 17,500 acres of land and 300 slaves, other investments and money.
She capably ran five plantations left to her, bargaining with London merchants.

Two of her four children by Custis survived to young adulthood. Martha and George Washington had no children together.

Martha Custis, age 27, and George Washington, age 26, had a grand wedding on January 6, 1759.

Martha Washington joined her husband during the Revolution for all the Continental Army's winter encampments. Before the revolution began, she had kept close to home; during it, she traveled thousands of miles to be with her husband.

Martha was not fully supportive of Washington's agreeing to be President of the newly formed United States.

Mary Custis Lee, was Martha Washington's great-granddaughter, step-great-granddaughter of George Washington, and was the wife of Confederate General Robert E. Lee.

In 1936, the centennial of the Wisconsin Territory was celebrated with a US commemorative half dollar and an official commemorative medal.

At the time of its creation in July 1836, the Wisconsin Territory occupied a much larger area than present-day Wisconsin, it also included what is now Minnesota and Iowa, as well as portions of North and South Dakota.

The Wisconsin Centennial, Inc. had struck 1,500 bronze medals for the centennial; they sold for $1.00. A choice example is shown below in its original holder.
