That's a really nice strike for a 1924-D, and it has good eye appeal. It looks like a MDS obverse and LMDS reverse. Considering die state and strike, I'm at EF-40 here. Nice one!

Wow that's quite the story Tony! I understand what you mean about the strike quality. Found a 1924-D in a roll about a year ago. Was G6 or so and had a pathetically weak strike. Of course wear had done a good number to it, but in general you could tell it was probably a late die strike. But big congrats to you! You got it for a spectacular price, quite surprised no one attempted to outbid you. I understand the thing with sniping. When I first started out on ebay, I screwed myself over, as I was trying to snipe. As you know, ebay has a maximum bid that you place, and if no one tries to bid, the maximum bid will remain invisible. I didn't know this and tried to snipe on the last few seconds. Lost a couple good auctions by not understanding how the system worked. So far I haven't experienced any snipers besides the ones on my own auctions that I've created.

Sorry for my rant, anyway, huge congratulations! Let us know when you have it in hand!

Sorry Tony, its too small and not properly cropped. Can you take better pictures?

I'm at VF 35, even in photograde its a 1924D and looks like yours. Maybe if the photographer took better pictures I could go to XF
