Had my eye on this one. It was bid to $55 + $3.50 shipping. Was thinking on bidding $66 + shipping but didn't pull the trigger because I had some concern about authenticity. Ended up selling for $58 + sh so I probably could have picked it up. Thoughts on grade, and problems (especially authenticity)? Thanks!

main concern is the reverse rim bleeding into the lettering... off-center strike in a collarless press?

Authentic, cleaned, ED, I'd say VG details, no eye appeal, yuk, hopes that sums it up.

Authentic, VG details net AG, porous

The rims may have been rolled as seen in " Dryer Coins", accounting for the odd positioning.

That seems to be a common occurrence when the dies are severely worn. It is called 'die flow' and results, from what I have read', in the edge legend 'flowing' into the rims. You can see something very similar in this 1812 S-289 in my collection:

I see nothing to indicate that it is not authentic
