Wondering if you guys think this Morgan is real from the pictures provided. I may need to edit or upload different pictures but this is what I have for now. Weight is good, ping test checks out, I just want to be sure this is the real deal and something about it makes me think it might not be. If it is real, what would you say is a fair price to pay for it?   Edited by NumismaticExpert

What is a ping test? Did you test it with a magnet? tissue test? John1  ( I'm no pro, it's just my humble opinion )

Looks legit to me but I don't monkey around with morgans very often these days. Looks like an xf coin. I don't see any red flags on the date or denticles or any unusual wear patterns at first glance.
So yeah I would say legit here.
I don't detect the smell of a Chinese Benefiber pile on this one and usually they are pretty stinky.

ping test= gently dropping the coin from a close/safe distance on a hard surface like a glass or metal desk. When the coin is dropped it will roll around until it eventually levels out on one side or the other. AS it rolls around a trained ear can determine whether or not it is silver. Genuine silver coins will have a higher octave 'ping' as it rotates around on the hard surface. Fake silver coins tend to have a lower octave 'ping' that would be best described as sounding 'flat'.
Best way to train your ear is to drop a fake/counterfeit morgan on a hard service and listen. Then drop a genuine morgan and compare the difference in octave. The genuine morgan will make a higher-pitched ping sound that is comparable to a women's soprano voice. While the fake coin would be more comparable to an alto's voice and will sound somewhat 'flat'.

I don't see any of the typical red flags. Looks EF-40 details as it has been cleaned. I like the die clash mark on the reverse, good sign.

Thanks, everyone. I paid about $50 for this coin and was worried that I lost money. I think the cleaning threw me off a bit. Just gave the coin a weird look. And yes, I did test it with a powerful magnet.
