JD, what do you mean by "laminate finish"? These are alloys, no "coatings, layers" involved. If you mean the rougher surface perchance? This appears to be a very early business die strike. Very little original die surface has been altered by the striking pressures yet. See the "crispness" of the letter details is even from field areas to top of finished device. It is a very nice, toned coin, MS63+RB, exceptional strike (both sides). Alto some may dislike the uneven toning, I question if it isn't just a natural state, it may have been rubbed with a cleaner, not sure.

Thank you for the feedback it was graded by a 3rd party company as a MS65RB but wanted other opinions. When I posted this I coin in the holder I was told it was maybe a AU coin so I cracked it out and wanted better pics

Very decent example. MS 63 RB is about right, although it does pain me to agree with Crazy

Yep, NNC usually overgrades all their coins by a MINIMUM ofone grade Mox, tsk, tsk....
