Littlebirdy8 ! Glad to have you here and look forward to your comments. I have never had a box even close to your "best" box. I think the most I ever found in one box is 8 and most were 40% as I recall. Once again, welcome aboard.

What is the most valuable half dollar you have ever found coin searching?
Personally, it has only been a 1972-D No FG for me. Maybe one day I will find a rotation error of rare doubled die.

I am green with envy as I read this thread. I used to get £5 bags of 5p and 10p coins from banks here in the UK until the early 1990s - an occasional pre-1947 50% silver coin would turn up, and even the odd pre-1920 92.5% silver coin - these were the old shillings and florins that circulated along with the decimal 5p and 10p coins until those were reduced in size in 1990-2. In the UK, coins are supplied by banks in clear plastic bags with £5 face value in each bag (100 5p's or 50 10p's),
On my various visits to the States I have obtained a few rolls of halves from banks - never made any exciting finds that way, but got quite a few different dates for my album. But once I was in Richmond, Virginia and went into a bank to ask if they had any halves. The teller said she had $17 worth. I bought them and found 3 40% Kennedys, one of which was a proof 1969S!

6 boxes today. A few NIFC, 3 holed, 2 proofs. At least everyone else is having luck in their areas. Stopped by the grocery store on my way home. The bank in store only had 1 half. One teller said she ran all of the halves and dollars coins she got through the machine earlier. I paid for my beer with halves as usual (not with a food stamp card like everyone else shopping there lately seems to be). The guy behind me (looked to be in his mid to late 20's) said "Are those half dollars? No way." He pulled out the change in his pocket and had 2 halves on him. I explained to him about halves, NIFC, the only way to really get halves is to order a whole box, etc. Hopefully I made a positive impression on at least one person today.

I have bad luck with coin roll hunting. I've never gotten any silver and have searched two boxes.

SilverMatt, You need to go through more than 2 boxes. It is a hit and miss hobby. I had 3 boxes in a row with no silver. I did a box today and only got 1 NICF, thats it! I am getting another box tomorrow, stay tuned.
