The planets must have aligned or something but my wife said she would like to collect Seated quarters? She generally mocks and frowns upon my coin endeavors but she said it and I'll going to get a Dansco and a couple to get her started.
Looks like a set with low interest with low mintage coins at nice prices.

Any words of wisdom?

Wow, good luck!

Is it contagious?

Can she pass it onto my wife?

I wished my wife (now ex) would have had the collecting bug in my years of buying, selling, buying more, ect... Instead she did nothing but complain about how much money I was wasting (MY MONEY/not one cent of hers)... After 34 years of marriage when I filed for divorce, she (and her lawyer) became REAL INTERESTED in them and demanded half of everything...
I would say that anyone out there with a spouse that enjoys collecting with you is a keeper for life...

Seated Liberty quarters rock! There are some coins of this type that are a bit tricky to acquire but it's a GREAT coin series with TONS of history!!

I've noticed a lot of the coins on ebay look to be cleaned so I'm trying to acquire
the look of original surfaces, no different from any other series but don't own much silver that is beyond
mercury, standing liberty and walkers in fractional denominations.

Sounds great. My wife suggested that I help the kids get started, so we got some Irish coins for St. Patricks and Israel Coins for Easter. She is great about getting me coins for gifts, but I get a bit overzealous and that does not go over well. She is "a keeper" too!

My wife has never given me the slightest bit of support or encouragement when it comes to coin collecting. It would definitely make my hobby a lot more enjoyable if she did. It sounds like your wife is a rare find indeed.

For me, what's helped is finding what my partner is interested in, and involve her that way. If there's a part of the world, or animal, or anything that they are interested in, then that's your ticket. If someone can't enjoy the new ATB Quarters, then check their pulse, but maybe that's just me. Being enthusiastic about it helps too, it can be contagious! Oh, and not spending all our money on the beautiful double eagle I saw in a different thread helps too =-p

Super 1861 Moe, thanks for posting it.
Is actually one of the years I want to put in her started set.
It won't look quite that nice though.

My wife and I collect together. Different stuff though, which can be nice.

We love going to shows together. We usually make 2 big ones, and a few small ones each year.
