Quote: There will most certainly be a dollar coin.
There will also be a two year wait. Precedents are difficult to change and there is no real hurry. If they wait until the other 2 drop off, they can mint all 3 dollar coins...

Given that Carter died towards the very end of 2024.
Do you think the coin will dated 2026 or 2027 if a bill was passed to issue a President Dollar coin?

2027. To issue a coin in 2026 "2 years after" wouldn't allow more than a few weeks on-sale.
But of course, it's actually up to the idiots in Congress to write and pass a bill...

and with all the potential hoopla going on for the semiquincentennial, it would make more sense to drop it in 2027.

Quote: If they do the C&C set, it would be fun if they also issued a 2025 Susan B. Anthony coin for it. Although it being a failure, maybe not so fitting. I think having a Carter dollar along with a "Carter quarter" in a C&C set would be great.

I am not opposed to the idea. Whether it was a winner or loser, the SBA was a significant piece of numismatic legislation signed by Carter. The Reagan C&C got an ASE for that reason. Maybe we can finally get a silver SBA?

Carter does have a bronze proof presidential medal. Looks nice.

Perhaps they can add the silver SBA and a bronze medal. The Teddy, FDR, Reagan, and Bush 41 sets all had "silver and bronze" pairings with their golden dollar.
