maridvnvm. That is a very good explanation of what could possibly have happened to the OP's coin.
Thank you for putting your time into this, it's really appreciated.

Now I just have to wait for the snow to melt.

We have had a small amount of snow here in the UK. Not enough to stop me detecting, the only thing is we have had several frosts and the first 4 inches of ground has been solid.

The 900 is a good machine. It seems great for the smaller targets that I go for, late Roman bronzes, Silver hammered etc. I haven't altered any of the settings as of yet, they seem ok at factory default. The VDI I will play around with a little bit when I go on my new permissions. Thanks again Docc for the recommendation, happy bunny.

Picked this up a while back and I did have a description with the flip but it's gone walkabout. Can someone point me in the right direction please.

Thank you.

I have taken the coin out of soak and dried it then brushed it off with a very stiff toothbrush. I didn't want to risk harming the coin. So here are the last two pics of the result, I must say, I am pleased with how it has turned out.

Very nice results... I have quite a few that need cleaning in this way but will wait to see how this one turns out. You have some really nice coins Victor and I always like seeing them when you post.

Here is the coin after an overnight soak as suggested. It's back in soak, only removed it to take half way pictures. Quite impressed with the mixture, coin in hand you can actually see some silvering showing.

Sorry about the different picture sizes.

I'd continue with diluted Verdi-care

I've never actually used Verdi care, It's a bit expensive delivery wise to the UK. I have seen a lot of images, before and after, using it and the results look quite impressive.
I might buy a small amount to try it out if it's really worth it?

Thanks Spence, I think cleaning it further would uncover damage so will leave as is.

Hi all.
Had this one for a while and never managed to id it. I did have it on ebay for a while but no takers so it's going into my collection..
I think I can make out IANVS NOBIL on the obverse, if anyone can point me in the right direction please.
The other thing is about cleaning the green, leave as is or clean further?
Thank you,
Kev.

Picked the 900 up today, put him together and will, hopefully, be out with him tomorrow for a few hours. I have a few new permissions that I need to hit so fingers crossed the weather will be good.
If I do hit any issues I will message you, thank you for the recommendation.
I tried to part ex the 800 but he wouldn't have it, but to be fair it has seen some wear and tear lol.
