Why not? This looks consistent with the mid MS from that link? I would love to be educated. That's what I'm here for!

Here is an example from PCGS of MS64. The wear on the coin I posted is less than the wear here, right?

Studying the pictures of wear I believe this is MS.

Would love your input. Trying to figure out if it worth sending off with some other coins next week.

This is what I used to compare it to

Are there any other collectors that also enjoy a coin like this, or am I a coin-wierdo?

I personally don't enjoy the really hard to see DDOs for example, but I can hold this coin up and see it's missing a letter and that's kinda neat to me.

For some reason the Pixlr Image Optimizer flipped the picture sideways, and I couldn't figure out how to change it. Now that I'm back on my PC, I fixed it.

sorry about that fellas

Based on what I can tell, this is a grease filled die. However, it's the most significant one I have come across in terms of clarity of the other letters and this one being totally gone.

This is not a "what's it worth" post, I just want to better understand what I am looking at.

I hear ya. I didn't have a choice. The camera is not working correctly on the microscope. Working on a new setup, plus I figured since this is such a large error, it was better to include than not.

@John1 I have a coin microscope. $40 rig off Amazon. For some reason in picture mode the camera is canted and the pictures don't look good. I'm working on getting a better setup.

If it is, it's the most significant I have seen put of 15K pennies this year.

*** Edited by Staff to Add Year / Denomination to Title. It's very important to have in the title. ***

I meant to add, there is quite a bit of machine doubling on these pennies, but this one appears to have doubling lines on the letters themselves present throughout most of the letters, and these letters appear fatter than that on the other coins.

Of all the DDOs, this is the type I have the most trouble identifying.

However, after looking through 4 rolls, there were 2 pennies that looked noticeably different than the others.

Best pics I could get through the microscope.

Feedback appreciated.

@BadThad

I think it has to do with me being a new member. When I go to email I get this message.

For security reasons new members do not have access to the email system. There is typically no reason for new members to email since.....

1. You are not allowed to buy, sell, or trade yet.

2. It's not fair to invade someone's privacy to ask them a question privately when there is an entire forum waiting to help you.

I also don't seem to be able to send PMs. However, my email is docpoco@gmail.com.

Before I post these... I'm going to state I am not positive they are DDO, nor am I saying I found a DDO, but 2 of these coins do look notably different than the other coins.

Here is the most prominent one.

Ok, now the post (with disclaimer above lol)
