This mm looks rpm to me. Yes ? No ? If not , what would cause the out of square D looking pattern ? Just curious. Kinda different looking. Thanks for sharing your brains.

Is this a mm error like a large over small D or vice ? The little one looks defined moreso than it would if it were just the inside of the large D. I just don't have enough experience to tell. Thank you
Wondering what this penny deformity is called or caused by the rim is in negative on both sides and it weighs 2.1 grams. It's in terrible condition overall but the rim is what has me puzzled.

I read on the PCGS site that a well graded coin like this could be worth a few dollars. Is that true. Does mine look good enough to have graded if so. It's actually redder and brighter than the picture shows
Could you explain what these errors are called and if they are anything special ? Part of the background is uneven and rough. Britsh surrender letters are doubled? Same with in God we trust. Liberty and America although harder to see on obverse
I've got a 82 D copper penny but the date and mm are damaged just enough to make identification difficult for me. I can't tell if it is a small date or not. Is there another way to ID it as a small date or not ?
My bad. Thought forum meant an arena for the intelligent discussion and exchange of ideas and information for purpose of a solution to a common interest problem. I was pretty clear that I was seeing something on coins and wanted to talk to someone who also saw the same thing. I'm confident that die chip is not the definitive answer to my query. If I could somehow show you what I'm seeing here, you'd most likely feel inclined to apologize to me for not giving me more consideration on the matter. I know what I see as do other people who are here with me. Sorry to hurt your professional sensibilities.
It's ERRORS and VARIETIES. Anyhoo, it's not BS. Seriously. I'm quite sane. I just can't believe not a single person has seen numerous faint images under magnification.
