In 1975, the Khmer Rouge (KR) took control in Cambodia. They prepared new set of 7 banknotes but, since they wanted to establish an "agrarian moneyless society", the banknotes were not issued. Here are the 2 first KR notes which are fractions of Riel:

0.1 Riel (1 Kak):

0.5 Riel (5 Kak):

The Lao Issara ("Free Laos") was an anti French, non communist nationalist movement formed on October 12, 1945. This short-lived movement emerged after the Japanese defeat in World War II and became the government of Laos before the return of the French. It aimed to prevent the French from restoring their control over Laos. The Lao Issara movement disbanded in 1949.

The Lao Issara issued four different banknotes, from them I have one of 50 Att (unit of Kip).

Translation of the back:
"The counterfeiter or dealer of counterfeit banknotes will be punished with hard labor imprisonment from 5 years up to life sentence and all of its properties will be confiscated according to art. 5 - law 18 January 2489 ( 1946 )
The Minister of finances Mr. Katay Don Sasorit"

Many thanks, walk2dwater and jbuck! Yes, I really love the Orangutan Indonesian banknote, my first in my collection.

As far as I know, there is no official state banknote shows Chimpanzee. But I have a Notgeld of 75 Pfennigs from Stellingen, Germany issued in 1920 depicting drunken Chimpanzee:

Carl Hagenbeck (1844 - 1913), a German merchant of wild animals who supplied many European zoos and founded Germany's most successful privately owned zoo, the Tierpark Hagenbeck, which moved to its present location in Hamburg's Stellingen district in 1907:

Thank you very much, IndianGoldEagle, for sharing the great Gorilla Congo coins, they are beautiful!

I have several silver coins show Gorillas and other monkeys. All are proofs inside capsules. Any idea how can I post them? I tried to scan them, but I got very poor and dimmed scans.

Thank you, hokiefan_82, jbuck and walk2dwater, for your warm words.

In August 2018, Venezuela changed its currency due to high inflation. 100,000 Bolivar Fuerte became 1 Bolivar Soberano. A new set of banknotes was issued from 2 Bolivar Soberano up to 500 Bolivar Soberano. Here is the new 100 Bolivares depicting Spider Monkey (Ateles geoffroyi) from the Guatopo National Park , Miranda:

Ezequiel Zamora, a Venezuelan soldier, and leader of the Federalists in the Federal War (Guerra Federal) of 1859-1863. Very small Spider Monkey design appears on the right upper corner:
