She wants me to sell them because I have too many. I'll admit I do. I am thinking of selling my common, multiple ones, that I have.

I don't see why having a CCW permit would be a problem.

I always figure the cost of shipping into the price I am willing to spend on a coin. If I am willing to spend $25 on a coin and it is priced at $20 w/ $5 shipping I'm good, if the coin is $18 and $8 shipping, then I go with the first coin.

In trying to put a $ value on my Kennedy half collection, I have this question. Does a complete set of coins have a greater value than the coins as individuals. In other words, if I put a price (value) on each coin in my Dansco, can I than add a premium to that price because I have every coin? I guess one more way to ask is does my time of amassing this set put a premium value on it?

I tried going the summer after 9/11 and then you needed your congressman's permission to go on the tour. We never heard anything before we left for Philly, my brother lives in Harrisburg and thats why we were going to PA in the first place. We tried to go but without a "permission" slip you were not allowed in, even into the store. So we just talked to the security guard, who was carrying an automatic rifle, and he ended up giving my kids some mint trinkets, no coins, and we left and toured the rest of Philly.

CC terms must have changed since I had my antique store 10 years ago. Then you could not charge more if someone was using a CC, you either ate the cost as a business expense or you just built it into your cost of goods sold.

I don't know about traveling in Canada or other foreign countries, but this is from the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) in the USA.

"Q. Will I be delayed during screening if I am carrying large amounts of cash?
A. TSA does not restrict passengers from carrying cash through our security checkpoints. However, when TSA discovers a passenger carrying a sum of cash that appears to be in excess of $10,000 and the passenger is traveling to a location outside of the United States, TSA may notify U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to ensure compliance with international currency-reporting requirements. Also, TSA may notify law enforcement officers if cash is discovered during the security screening process that appears to be related to criminal activity based on factors such as the quantity, packaging, circumstances of discovery, or the method by which it is carried. "

$10,000 seems to be the number that raises questions with authorities in other countries as well. It sounds like if you declare it to the customs agent and explain why you have that quantity you should not have that many problems. Just be honest, don't try and hide it and never, ever try and out smart a customs agent, because your day will just go down hill from there.

From CoinTrackers, "This proof contains no silver, it was not until 1992 that the US mint started back minting silver proof dimes, and even then most were not silver proofs."
