Nine dollars at the Dollar Tree store. This includes a fifty cent tip to the cashier for getting a used cardboard box out of the back instead of a flimsy paper sack for my heavy items. She said her manager would be excited when he sees the half dollars.
Two dollars at the Speedway for a Powerball ticket. The cashier immediately swapped the halves out with her own dollar bills before putting the money in the register.
Quote: So, what are you folks doing? Going to the bank and gathering up Kennedy halves to spend out in the wild?
That's exactly what I am doing. Of course, I pull out all of the good ones first. I ended up with a box with $780 a month ago. Nothing in that batch worth saving. A lot of original BU rolls from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. It makes me a little sad to spend them but saving them is not a good idea because of inflation.
