Wow, thank you for the awesome information. I guess they're all considered medals but is there a significant difference in the importantance or value between the awarded ones, the tokens and souvenirs? Id love to find out who the initials belong too.

I have this 1885.86 North Central and South American Exposition Token or Medal or something. I'm really curious about the E.V.R. stamped on the front. It also says New Orleans so anyone know what this is?

I tried full coin pics but they're really bad quality taken with my cheap amazon microscope. The good one is on the way. But I don't understand how that can be PMD since what ever the anomaly is it's under the "A" and raised, it's not a scratch.

Here are some pics of another 2023 D quarter, I have a bunch of them. The mark on the "A" is interesting to me because the mark is raised above the surface of the coin but under the "A". I don't even know what it would be called?

Here are a few more pics with the old scope, I doubt the quality is good enough so I ordered a new scope, I'll send more pics once it arrives.

After using my USB microscope on a hand full of 2023 D Quarters I found with what I believe to be doubling on the artist initials on the reverse of one coin plus I noticed a die crack on the plane on the same quarter. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Please excuse the poor quality pics.

Didn't find it near a coin shop, I found it at a dilapidated strip mall in the parking lot between a Dominos Pizza and a Chase bank. I just realized I got my 2009 A #3 $100 note (LH 00000003 A) from that same bank. What are the odds, lol.

Like the title says, I found a 1909 VDB in a parking lot. You can see from the picks it was obviously run over, if the scratches weren't there this coin would be in very good condition. I guess I was a little late finding it, lol!

I recently sold a tool box and took 22 1oz silver dollars as payment. One of them has either MD or DD. I can't find out much about the 2017 errors online.

Sorry for the low quality pics but I asked how to take better pics with my cheap amazon USB microscope in the Coin Photography, Image Editing, and Related Software forum but they said post the pics anyways so here you go.

I get Wheat Cents in my pocket change frequently here in Phoenix. I have 83 Wheat Cents, I've pulled 80 of them out of my pocket change over the last 5 years and found 3 in parking lots, one of the 3 being a scratched up 1909.

Unfortunately there are no size/pixel settings on this iskam USB microscope. I guess its time to throw some money at amazon and hope for the best, lol.

I use my 60" TV as a monitor, I'm wondering if that's part of my problem? I'm thinking buying a coin microscope that has a 7" or 10" monitor built into the stand would be a better option, ya think?

I bought a cheap ($40) inskam-312 USB microscope off amazon and it worked ok for a few months but now the quality of the pics are below average, way below average for some reason. I've tried all the adjustments and external lighting but just can't get it right. I should have known by the manufactures name, "inskam", lol.

Rather than posting pics and everyone saying "Post Better Pics" I'd rather find helpful hints, hacks, other software I can download or maybe even different lighting tricks I haven't tried yet? So without spending $500 on a new USB microscope, can somebody point me in the right direction?

The mintmark anomaly on my 1987 D cent was called Zinc Rot but I found this pic of a 1951 D cent on the LCR site but they say it's an OMM. It looks a lot like my 1987 D cent mintmark so I'm wondering how to tell the difference between Zinc Rot and OMM?

Are coins with dramatic Machine Doubling worth more than face value. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the most dramatic Machine Doubling, where does my 1987 dime fall?

Oh, so a true Double Die coin is caused by the Die being damaged? So a coin could have both Double Die and Machine Doubling at the same time? This hobby just got more difficult, lol.

This 1987 D dime I believe has Machine/Mechanical Doubling. I've checked various sites but since I'm fairly new at this so I'm not sure?

Now here's a tough question to answer, this is hypothetical but lets say out of 10,000,000 coins what are the percentages when it comes to how many Double Dies vs Machine/Mechanical Doubling is in that 10,000,000 coins? Is it something like 0.003% or 0.7% or 5%?

The first pic I posted had me convinced there was a D under the D mintmark but I've also never heard of Zinc Rot. Thank you guys for clearing that up for me.

P.S. lol, that first pic had me going!
