VG10 looks about right, I also agree, early 25 cents are hard to find readable. Cool coin!

Absolutely beautiful. I don't see any signs of a cleaning. Looks to be AU in my opinion, but toning makes it hard to tell. Its a good strike anyways!

I would agree, the CCCS coin has better detail on the devices, however they are very similar. Cool variety!

It's certainly beautiful, shame about the scratch and the earlier photos did make it appear as if it was cleaned. Luster looks great!

I would agree, perhaps a cleaning in the past, but that warrants the question- why clean an obvious mint-state coin? "ugly" toning?

Going out on a limb, havent seen any other threads about this recently...

What would your series to collect/upgrade?

I would upgrade my Canada silver 5 cent collection to Mint-state, then probably get into American Seated Liberty half-dimes/maybe dimes. I'm not much of an American collector but I love the design of the seated liberty series, especially the early years and half-dimes / dimes are my favorite.

Just beautiful! (not my coin or photo)

What about you?

I agree, I'm closer to Canada than any major city in the US,I just don't buy American coins, I don't like them. Its especially nice right now given that prices on Canadian coins are very low. That is a fair point (presented earlier in the thread) that coins of rarity such as 1921 50c pieces are highly undervalued? (or US coins are overvalued) compared to a US piece of similar stature. I don't get as much Canadian change as Michigan would, but it sure is fun visiting BC every chance I get!

1896 is much darker than this, but I liked the color is still has (albeit faintly) around the rims.

Starting with nickel 5 cents may actually be easier whenever you come around to it... Just now thinking about it, besides the 1926 far 6 and in some grades 1925 I could've finished 1920-1980 at half the cost of silver 5 cents. Oh well, I'm already in 30 coins deep.
