I don't know of anyone either, except my pre-teen son. We are in it together! Atleast it gives me someone to talk to about it other than just the online world (no offence). It seems like it can be a very lonely hobby at times...

Not to hijack a thread, but for a very new collector like me, what is it meant to be when you say "restrike"?

I bought a roll. Personally I think they would still be a couple bucks over spot but who knows in this market.

These are the coins I was referring to. Maybe they are just new on the market?

What are everyone's opinions on Asahi Silver Rounds. I doubt they would command the same premium as ASE or Maples but at what premium would they be a wise investment?

I typically use debit/credit for 95% of purchases.. I will get cash out when going to a coin shop etc, but that's about it usually. Having said that, I sold a thing to a guy last week for $200 bucks cash.. In our neck of the woods, with the whole Covid-19 situation, most places of business have signs made up requesting only Debit/Credit transactions at this time! I didn't think I would see the day I couldn't use my cash to buy a slice of pizza, get gas or go to Tim Hortons....

Why does it seem that Silver is tanking? Gold still seems to be holding it's own.... I thought the two of them would move upwards together in this type of environment..

Unfortunately, I think it would probably be more of a turn off to some people than the actual hole would have been (myself included) I waited until I could afford one that was problem free instead of buying one that I would have been disappointed with like that (no offense). Ultimately, there is likely a buyer for it around a few hundred for sure!

I bought this at a coin shop a while back but the more I look at it, I wonder if it is authentic, or a copy.. And, what is the black on the coin? Unfortunately, the more I magnify it, the worse it looks.. Any thoughts are appreciated..

I was given one at the Mint in Winnipeg in 2018. Very nicely crafted.. Picked up a second new one on Kijiji for $80.. They are a nice manageable box to hold a small collection, or a few key coins that you refer to often.
