I had ordered this coin Nov 9th from Canada Post and very much looking forward to it. The shipping day went from Nov 14 to Dec 1. I checked multiple times for updates and was told each time everything was good. Now I'm told with, no reason given, that my order was cancelled. This item was part of a larger order and everything else shipped and received. It is no longer available from CP, or anywhere else. I had really been looking forward to this and am really disappointed in how Canada Post handled this. Did anyone order an extra or have a lead? |

@commems I mention technology because there is no excuse, imho, in 2023 for the effigy to not be in place. Designs can be produced and transmitted back and forth for approval in short order. I can't agree with it being a Royal Family and their advisors issue. King Charles' effigy is on 2023 dated Royal Mint product. It's like getting mail for a deceased relative a year+ later, to me it disrespets the Queen. It is a 2024 dated coin. I respectfully have to stick with it being a RCM or Government of Canada issue. |

I have seen the RCM blurb (for about a year now) What I'm wondering from the RCM is why a process that was done largely by hand in 1952 resulted in Queen Elizabeth appearing on coins early in 1953 (wihin a year of ascension)) and with all the advances in technology there couldn't have been an effigy of King Charles ready in a similar amount (or less) of time for a 2024 dated Peace Dollar. |

I am not very familiar with British coins. The Royal Mint has a couple of emergency pennies that I am interested in. Both are sold as circulated condition, a Heaton at 16£ and King's Norton at 24£. They each come on a card with some of the history of the time, which I am very interested in, the period leading up to and during WWI. Are they a terrible buy at those prices? |

For the Allegory of Peace I have seen the weight listed at 132.14g (99.39g outer ring and 32.75g cast core). I would have liked the RCM to make this as a 5 oz coin, it seems odd at 4 plus oz. I also don't understand why the Peace Dollar over a year after QEII's passing and dated 2024 (2 year date difference) still bears Queen Elizabeth on the obverse. Will the Canada 160 coins in 2027 still be bearing the Queen's portrait?

I like this series and get at least one of the rolls each year. The 2012 has long been my favorite, followed by 2014 and 2016. With the 2016 I also added the bronze medals (before the price increase) for the Code Talker tribes connected to WWI. I like the tie in of the 2019 to the Apollo anniversary program. While well down on my list of favorite designs, this year's was neat in that Maria Tallchief was on the dollar coin and one of the American Women's quarters. Has anyone else been on two different denomination coins in a single year? |

@jpsned It could be that your Harris folder doesn't have holes for them as the final decision on them was late in coming. The first, Lowell actually was not available in new Lowell rolls. It came out with the American Memorial Park release. A similar delay (typical government program), in 2020 getting final approval of the privy mark. The American Samoa 'bat' quarters were not released until the Weir Farm Park quarters were. |

@jpsned What you have posted and ratmans reply is correct. W mint for circulation only each of the 5 ATB quarters in 2019 and 2020. Mintage of 2 million each. The 2020 quarters in addition to the 'W' mintmark have a small privy mark to the left of George Washington commemorating 75 years since the end of WWII. They were great fun to search for when new and can still be found (though most likely not BU now). These were salted into the large bags of P and D quarters before distribution to banks (although a good number seem to have not made it to being mixed in). These were not available with any of the USM sets as the cents, nickels, and dimes were and were not available in rolls ordered from the mint. I'm still hoping to come across some new rolls of a couple of the 2020s as with the pandemic it became difficult to get rolls. |
