Its hard to get excited about the COA 50c unless its a very low mintage. I managed to get about 100 mabo 50c and yes it was a low mintage of 1.1m. The federation coins of 2001 are collectable I have put together about a dozen sets. I found a few incuse 2000 coins too.

I collected a handful, I think the staff are tired of me asking for these special release $2 coins. Trick is to shop at multiple stores.

Possibly a gaming token from a casino or a board game, just a wild guess. Maybe also a pay phone or a vending machine token.

Australia Post try to sell a lot of stuff at 'inflated' prices

Yes, packing tape is quite expensive at Australia Post outlets.

In recent years since 2016 there has been far too many $2 coin releases. It has become a joke of a joke.

If Australia Post continue with these types of themes (think NRL, basketball, soccer etc) I will either go broke or give up collecting.

My preference is for coins in mint condition - maybe I will have to revert to circulated coins from now on?

You can find these in new condition in coin rolls from the bank. Yes there is just too many coin from RAM to collect these days.

can't see anything wrong with this well circulated coin. I assume the damage to the queens face was the suspected potential error and that damage would have occurred after it had left the mint. PMD "post mint damage"

You may want to contact the auction house directly and ask if them to confirm provenance.

I assume FOR EX in Australia do not accept coins as they take up too much storage space. I saw a company in UK named left over currency that buys back coins and bank notes even if demonetised. Was thinking of sending some coins and banknotes in well circulated condition. Has anyone used their services?
