Interesting thread, I too like collecting silver coins. I first got my silver coins in the early eighties, they were given to me by a neighbor at the time, I was about 12 and I still have them.
I don't have many, but from time to time I'm on the look out for additions.
Best of luck with the adventure and will be nice to see the updated thread.
I have some doubles of coins to sell if you are interested? I can send you pics and you can make me an offer if you like? |

Thank you aristarchus123 and apence. The coin has had very low circulation, strange to think wear happened to one side in a specific location and without affecting both sides. Would this be related to the fin on the rim I wonder |

Hello All,
Its been a very long time since I visited the forum and while going through my collection today I noticed something which eluded me , a possible error coin.
Can anyone help with this curiosity?

nice. I was doing a little research about gold panning in Ireland and there is definitely gold here and its 24k.
I also read that all minerals, gold, silver etc. belong to the state. People are allowed to pan for gold and are allowed to keep the finds so long as the nuggets are not over 2g smaller flakes are ok to keep, oh and we are not allowed to sell the finds. the state treat small finds by individuals as "hobby" panning.
Anything on a larger scale needs an extraction license ! |
