Good Idea they are lot easier to track if you know where people are finding them. So an update on my last post I have found 8 Stanley cup quarters and one commemorative toonie in Nova Scotia.
I once played around with nickel electroplating and used a nickel as a sacrificial piece. It came out looking similar so I would say it defiantly looks like a chemical reaction of some kind. Too bad could have been a nice key date.
My wife's reactions would be about the same. Looks like everyone has given you good advice and I think I have some to add. First if your dishwasher is near the sink the you can bet that the plumbing for the dishwasher is tied in under the sink. You should see an extra supply line under the sink coming off the hot water pipe and heading for the dishwasher, shut the valve off for the line going the the dishwasher. Also you should see a drain pipe coming from the dishwasher as well it is usually a flexible pipe connected with a hose clamp that will come off with screwdriver or pliers. Then once you take the cover off the bottom dishwasher the water connection should be right there and depending on the connection can be removed by hand or a 5/8 wrench. With the power off take the cover off the electrical box and disconnect the wires but look first a lot of time there is enough wire to pull the dishwasher out without disconnecting. You make have to help the drain hose back through the hole from the under the sink but the dishwasher should pull out after you unscrew it from the counter. As for the extra layers of floor if you screw the leveling legs up they should clear the floor.
and last but not least I think everyone will agree once you find it
Hey guys thanks for the tips here is a few new pics. I hope they are a little better than others I think my biggest problem is poor lighting.
Quote: but I bet your g/f pulled them from his change back in the day?
From what my father tells me is that most of the collection he built by sorting through change that came through a dry cleaning business my family owned in the 50's and 60's
Hey guys I found these coins in my grandfathers collection handed down to me. What do you guys think they grade at? I am still new at grading looking for something to compare to. Thanks.
Pics are small but it looks like someone drilled a hole with a very dull bit and then flattened the burr left behind from the bit. Possibly because it was too sharp to wear as a necklace.
Thanks for the info. Someone at work gave it to my father and he thought I would be interested in it. We haven't seen a two dollar note up north here since 1996, so its nice to see you guys still have them even though it seems none knows you do.
Hey guys I am looking for some info on this note. I am not really a note collector and do not know much about american currency so, is this considered a low serial? Is it in good condition? Thanks all I can find is that they are rare but not necessarily worth a lot.
Thanks for the help. I have been wanting to dive into these rolls. I think ill go with the plastic tubes for there durability and ease of access later on.
I came across this shilling and I think it is a beautiful coin. I looked up some pictures of others like it but none have the four tags on the edge like this one what could cause this? Or is it possibly a fake?
Thanks for the warm welcome. Not that I am worried about decreasing the value of a coin like this but I have never heard of using WD40 or olive oil, everything you read just says use acetone. Will the WD and oil strip the coin and bring back the shine, where the acetone will just take off grease and some dirt?
These coins were part of my grandfathers collection. All the rolls are marked with the dates of the coins inside. I have been told if rolls are stored improperly that it could cause them more damage than good, I am still new to collecting and would like to keep the coins in the best condition I can. what do you guys think the best option is?
Hey guys I came across this coin in a small case of coins I picked up a while back and want to know what you guys think. I am a novice coin collector and am really enjoying this forum. Hope the image quality is good enough.
