I did not do the early bird admission, if that's what you're asking. I just go there first thing for general public opening.

NumisEd, sorry you didn't enjoy the show. I was generally pleased. BTW, you can pre-purchase admission and your badge would be ready to pick up, no waiting, also the admission is for all three days.

This was a good show for the size, even a decent selection of world coins. Picked up a Gothic Florin (PCGS MS63), so made it worth the trip.

Edit: Oops, I was referring to the last Hot Springs show which was last weekend.

They are looking to build up the site and make money on ads and other non-transaction related revenue.

NumisEd, I was a little disappointed myself, hoped I'd been able to buy more. I did get several coins and the trip was worth it for me. I was able to get very affordable airfare and the hotel across the street had decent rates for the one night I stayed. My expenses weren't bad, roundtrip airfare, hotel, Uber x2, admission x 2 days, total ~400 bucks. I would also recommend going the 1st (and 2nd) day the show is open to the public, perhaps you'd see better deals.

From the owner of Maryland Coins, Ethan Opdahl, a new site has been created and is now active, for buying numismatic coins (and bullion). And because there are no seller fees, prices are much lower than ebay.

Dealers are vetted and it's free for buyers to create an account. New dealers and coins are still being added, so at the moment, the selection isn't as big as ebay. But if you find something you're looking for, the price is certainly going to be cheaper.

Very few of these at PF70. Ship is the Andrew Doria.

This is a great coin, Bhutan 1979 3 Ngultrums, KM 50a, sterling silver, crown-sized. Love the design on both sides.

Another sterling silver, crown-sized beauty. This one is KM# 625, with horse privy, mintage of 2000 coins.

These modern silver ducats are a great series, great production quality, lots of varying designs, and some dates have tiny mintages.

Love this design. Low mintage, too, at just under 3000 coins.

2011 Austria 10 Euro Lindworm, great design, very affordable coin.

Thanks all. The 1974 Sierra Leone coin was one which I just knew was an undervalued coin, but it's still never taken off. I thought it had everything, some age, nice design, one-year issue, relatively low mintage. You can still pick them up for a little more than spot, and higher grade slabbed for less than a 100.

I was able to pick up some very nice coins, but overall I was a little disappointed in the world coin selection. Worth the trip though, for sure.

From a recent Heritage auction:

So, was the price bid up because of the + on the grade, or because of the "1776" date? I'm thinking the date.

Thanks, all.

NumisEd, I bought the Lion Daalder already graded. The other 3 were coins I submitted to NGC.
