Quote: His said specifically it was selling for $1000 over issue price.and the co-host showed the eBay listing for the coin at $2799.
Correct. Their statements are false. None have sold for over issue price. This is an "untruth" no matter how you look at it.
Co-host showed 2 eBay listings with asking prices $1,000 over issue price and claims that these are selling for $1,000 over issue. S. Bromberg knows that this is not true, but both hosts kept repeating this falsehood. |

I've never seen the manure pile up so high on TSC Coin Show. S. Bromberg's lies (and co-host) were off the charts today:
Main lies: Celestial Circle Puzzle Coin sold out immediately at the mint, now selling for $1,000 above issue price. The truth is that (atm) most dealers are still trying to sell them at $1,599.99, and none have sold for over issue price. Lies over and over for 2 hours.
I do agree that's it's a beautiful piece, and would buy it for a reasonable price. $1,600 is ridiculous. I'd buy it for $1,300, but will not give S. Bromberg the extra $300.
Looks like YesOrNo is correct. S. Bromberg admitted that he commissioned the coin (in a round about way). |

Quote: Just realized RCM changed the pictures again. Now all pictures feature the three elves facing outwards .
It's getting so confusing. If anyone owns this coin, can you please tell me if your elves are facing inwards or outwards? I just received my coin and am sending it right back. It looks like a piece of poop. By the way, the elves are facing inwards.
What was the RCM thinking? What a way to destroy the series. |

Quote: So to attract buyers you now need to lower your coin price to offset the taxes. Combine that with final fees, free shipping, you have to sell for a loss. My coins are siting on eBay with no buyers. Only sold 1 coin since July 1. I paid the buyer's taxes on my last sale in Canada just to move it. At least I broke even on that one. (non RCM coin). Selling on eBay is not worth it now.
To summarise what vonigohcr so eloquently stated: They're putting the squeeze on us from all directions.

Quote: The Klondike Gold Rush coin sells for $189.95 and mintage is 5000. I don't recall any unadorned 1 oz coin that is so expensive at $189.95, which is usually reserved for 2 oz coins. Thanks, MoneyPenny.
$189.95 for a 1oz coin, with a mintage of 5,000?
That's crazy...unless there's some real value in them there gold nuggets. : - ) |

Quote: The mintage of the 5 oz coin seem to be out of alignment with recent 5 oz releases. 2000 mintage is double the mintage of this year's 5 oz coins which were only 1000. Why this big jump in mintage. Do they anticipate huge demand for it?
Not only that, but they have increase the price of it to $649.95 compared to the Avro Arrow at $569.95 and Snowbird at $599.95.
I won't be getting it. These are the exact questions I've been pondering. The only thing that makes sense to me is that they are expecting more demand for the coin. Nothing else makes sense.
Will pass on this coin too, but will be interesting to watch. |

Quote: it makes sense to me for the Tiara to be taxable... It is clearly not an investment metal coin... not with diamonds, pearls, swarovski attached. It is also clear that the astrolabe is in the same category as not meeting the standard of a high purity PM that can double as an investment. Since the astrolabe is pure silver with a bit of bronze plating, it remains above 99.95% purity.
It is not considered an embellishment and is therefore not taxable. |
