I like the designs, but I want to wait to see them on a coin. What looks good as a large graphic may not look good when its on a quarter. |

I played around with the picture in Photoshop, and the 7 jumped out at me. The key is the rectangular top piece. Its a thick rectangle on the 7, but is slightly thinner and swept to the right on a 5.
I would to ahead and Nic-A-Date it just to be sure. |

I say yes.
If you post your note, I have a WWII Hawaii overprint silver certificate and its story I need to share. |

There are a few coins I have that I could never part with.
I have a 1927-P Standing Liberty Quarter. My mom bought it for me at Woolworth's back in 1980. I think it was $4.00 back then.
Back when I started coin collecting, I wrote a letter to my grandparents asking if they had any old coins they didn't want. My Grandfather sent me back a letter with a 1908-O Barber Quarter and three Barber halves! My Grandpa died in 1995 and my Grandma in 1997. Every time I look at those coins, I think of them.
Lastly, I've got two Walking Liberty Halves in my collection that my mother gave me. Technically, loaned me, since they are her's. She is the second child of her family, and was supposed to be the boy. So, she was the one that helped her dad around the farm. Every so often, her and her dad would load up the truck with scrap metal and sell it to the local junk merchants. Her dad would give her a half dollar as her "pay" for helping him. She saved two of the halves, and I am keeping them safe for her.
Here's a picture of the coins. The three Barber halves and the Barber quarter are from my Grandparents. The quarter is a 1908-O and the 1903 Half has an O mintmark.
The two Walkers are my Moms. The one without the toning is a 1934-S.

My coworkers tell me that I have a photographic memory and that they wish they could remember things like I do. I tell them that it can also be a curse. I remember good times in perfect clarity, but I can also remember bad, painful times.
Lately, my memory isn't as good as it used to be. I attribute that to a stressful job that I hate and can't escape from.... |

Last Saturday, mine became a 1904 Indian Head Cent. I found it in the change that had collected in my car's cupholder during the last month. |

Quote: O.K., as usual, prices are rounded up or down, to the nearest multiple of .05 or .10. The net effect to you is zero.
If the cent and/or nickel would be eliminated, I don't see businesses rounding down. After all, they would look at those "lost cents" as lost revenue. They would round up.
I've seen businessmen who would spend a million dollars to track where a penny went. |

Its happened to me several times. I was close to purchasing a 1996-W dime, then I found two 1996 mint sets - with those dimes - that I didn't know I had.
What I've done is to purchase a coin and when I go to put it in my folder, I've already got it. Oh well. Another one for my coin collecting kids. |

The thought of having purchases rounded up just sticks in my craw. I've done the math, and it wouldn't be much over the course of a year, but it still strikes me as a hidden tax on the consumer.
Eliminating the cent and nickel is just a symptom of a bigger problem. We need to get our National financial house in order and stop borrowing and spending more than we have. Maybe then our money would be worth more than the metal its made of. |

Thanks everyone. I think I know where I got these from. I had some cash left over from our family vacation in early June, so I bought supper for all of us at our local Zaxby's. I go through the drive through, so that had to be where they came from.

I've already gotten all the coins out, but I'll still take you up on your offer.

Actually, I've always wanted a Model T, about a 1912-1915 vintage. I guess you could call it my dream car |

I was cleaning out my car yesterday, and I pulled out the change that had accumulated in my cupholder over the last month.
As I put the handful of coins down, I noticed the back of one of the cents didn't look right. I turned it over, and it was a 1904 Indian Head Cent! After showing my wife and coin collecting kids, I went back and looked through the rest of the change. I then found a 1945-P Lincoln Wheat Cent!
As you can imagine, I was (and still am) very excited. My best so far was finding a 1925-P LWC in change.

Be careful, the government could redefine you as a dealer based upon the volume of sales or dollar value of sales.
Its all about various Governments coming to you with a smiley face offering help, when they are actually just wanting more control over our lives. |
