Raymo, you would think so. I'm wondering if maybe they didn't send a 20x-200x by mistake or something. I might just try a different company. It's only a $28 whoops I guess.

ANACS for sure, even though they have by far the ugliest slabs and labels.

It freely zooms in and out without problem. I can see the optic go in and out. If I can't get it to work right maybe I'll just order the same scope as you and just eat the loss on this one (it was $30). At least I got a stand...

The software packaged with it is called AmScope. I tried to download another program but it won't recognize the microscope.

One issue I'm having is now there's a black area on the picture. Looks like maybe dust or something, will have to get some compressed air and it give it a blast. If that doesn't fix it, might be a problem with the microscope itself.

I'd buy it as a neat piece of history, not bullion. Small premium considering the history involved.

I keep mine with my guns. Lots of moisture absorption products and such. Half the safe is guns, the other half coins. They never mix.

Morgans just have so many different ways to collect them. Many different mint marks, VAMs, a larger "history", a more detailed design (IMO).

Anything a nickle or smaller does "ok" with a full coin shot. Anything bigger and no matter how far out I focus or how far I move it away, you can barely even tell it's a coin. Just a silver blob. Sort of really bummed out I can't do full shots, no idea why I can't but others don't have an issue.

Anyways, here are some results.

Got my USB microscope today. Just messing around with it right now. Takes amazing micro (or macro?) photos of mint marks. My D/D/D Franklin looks cool!

Too bad I can't do full photos. I've tried numerous times and it just won't focus on the whole coin. Bummmer, but oh well.

Nice photos! I think your DSLR will only get better with time and a tripod.

It's sort of neat to see the difference. The DSLR has less detail and more of a realistic, 3D look. While the microscope has better details, but a flat, dull, lifeless 2D look.

How about a full coin shot of each? Just for fun!

I think you should crack it out, photograph it, and then send it back in!

Kidding aside. That's a nice looking XF45!

I think it tops at 63. Little too much chatter in the focal points to go any higher IMO.

Yes I will be ordering that exact one. I'm wondering if I can't take that stand and extend it using copper or any other type of metal (maybe even PVC) tubing? The Lighthouse stands are sweet but if I can get away with a cheaper one for a few months and sell a couple coins, then so be it.

I almost went cross eyed for good while looking at IHC at the local coin show I went to (first in 5+ years). Not a single "1 in the neck" to be found. I didn't look for double dates or anything because they weren't as obvious.

For knowledge:
Both Cherry Pickers guides
Loupe (if you don't have one)
A book on your favorite series
If you have a smart phone, the FREEEEEE PCGS Price Guides and Photograde apps. Excellent apps, even if the price guide one crashes all the time. Annoying, but useful.

For fun:
Junk silver, especially SLQ and Merc Dimes. Never know what you'll find.....1916 SLQ prehaps? It has happened more than you think.

Pure investment:
PCGS graded, CAC certified MS64 Morgan. Yes, they CAN be found. You just have to be quick.

Wooster Coin Club will have their coin show at the Wooster High School on May 4th, starting at 9am. I went a few years ago and it's a nice small show (40-50 dealers).

I'll be there at 9am, as a collector. If anyone is going I'll be wearing either a bright green or orange polo, brown hair, scraggly beard with goatee. Will also be there with my dad (he's in his mid-50's). Feel free to say hi.

Someone needs to start assigning stickers based on the level of toning on a coin. From a pure white sticker to rainbows for only the best toned coins out there.

I'd like to see common dates hit $20 in my area. They are hanging out at $25+
