Grey Sheet bid:

At AU58, these are currently between $42 and $45, except for the 21 which is @ $39.

At MS60, these would be $50, with the 21 @ $43.

If they are truly MS as others have said, then it might be a good deal. $1,000 would be fair.

Slerk,

I am presuming you do not have an eBay store. So with a cost of $1.10 and .65 to ship the coin, you would need a price of $2.35 to break even. The "free shipping" on eBay is to the buyer. Seller always pays actual shipping charges when he offers "free shipping".

And just like that the calculator changed!

Last night and for as long as I have been using it, it merged PayPal and eBay fees. Now it's separating them as Managed Payments are the new method.

A truly magnanimous gesture! Not sure how this works but if we're choosing numbers I'd like 15.

Thanks!

Thicker envelope sold by ebay got though just fine, at the small envelope rate. Took it to the post office on Mon (Memorial day). Put in the envelope drop slot rather than the package one. Had other packages too. Tracking showed it arriving at my regional PO Tues night. Showed as delivered Today (fri). 4 days. Positive feedback, "nice coin, fast shipping." So I know it arrived undamaged.

Nice to know we can drop these in mailboxes instead of having to go to the lobby!

I ordered the largest size of the ebay envelopes. 6x9 I think. I have fine motor skill issues. So I have a hard time trimming down any labels. My wife will help, but I hate bothering her. So I got the largest size specifically because I want to be able to slap the half page label on it. Didn't even consider weight. Envelope alone is over 1.6 oz. In hind site, I should have got the smaller size. But I do like the added protection of the thickness.

I just used my coupon to purchase the eBay envelopes. I purchased the smaller 5" x 7" size figuring I might get an extra coin into it!

I asked at my local PO about these as I thought they might be too rigid to go first class mail, but they confirmed these are fine. Since I use a 4 x 6 thermal shipping label I'm hoping I can modify the print area to print horizontally as required.

Thanks for sharing your experience!

It is my understanding that on the eBay standard envelope all tracking information is done by the sorting machines. I can not answer how the post office sorting machine separate out foe delivery and delivered. I have also noted sometimes a large gap of days between out for delivery and delivered. I had some that get the out of delivery tracking, but are not tracked as delivered. The tracking for the eBay standard envelope has some bugs, and it may not be fixable with the current mail sorting machines.

Thanks for this information. It clears up a few things for me.

From my dealings, and according to eBay, the item is deemed as paid and ready to ship just as soon as the customer pays it as before. I have had three transactions so far under the new system and they've been marked "ready to ship" just as they were before as soon as the customer pays.

In other words, the only thing you're seeing different as a seller is that eBay is sitting on your money for a couple of business days before you can have it.

Thanks, John77.

If that is the case, then I see no issue with meeting the shipping requirement and maintaining Top Rated Seller status.

"As soon as the customer pays" - maybe my lack of understanding is due to the fact that I only accept PayPal. Is this the way it works with credit card transactions as well? For instance, if a purchase is made through Buy It Now today and paid for with a credit card, is the transaction deemed "Ready to Ship" immediately or only once the Credit Card has been processed and approved which could be days later?

As for the issue of eBay holding the money for a few days, we can open up a discussion on another thread regarding the revenue Ebay will be making on the "float". It's got to be a tremendous amount of money.

Zurie,

I appreciate this:

Quote:
From the eBay seller center:

Handling time is measured in business days with the option for you to include Saturdays and/or Sundays if you ship on those days. The handling time clock begins when you receive payment from your buyer and ends when your carrier scans the package.

In the case of 1-day handling, your sold item needs to have an acceptance scan by the following day at 11:59:59 p.m. in your local time zone.

This is more word salad from eBay. I'm trying to determine when the item is deemed as "paid" and ready to ship under the new MP system. Does eBay mark it ready to ship immediately upon buy it now or do they wait for the pending payment to be processed or completed? Under MP, I as the Seller would not be receiving the payment directly (as I do now through PayPal). It goes through the eBay "middleman" who then disburses it to me.

I'm not worried about when eBay deposits the net proceeds from the transaction into my account (although this is another topic for discussion). I suppose it will be a learning curve to see if I need to lengthen my handling time and whether or not doing so will impact my Top Rated Seller Status and the discounts associated with it.

Thanks again!
