Well it was bought raw the dealer had it on his sorting table and his wife was running the store. She called him and he priced it from memory.

According to the help desk, you can bring in and use metal detectors but you can't take anything out of the park, so anything historical you might find you'd have to donate I guess, which makes sense.

I am thinking about making a trip up to northern algonquin park to where one of the old lumber mills used to be and I was wondering if anyone has gone detecting in the park before, do you need any kind of permit or anything? Thanks in advance.

So I won this today, and I think I did pretty good, just wondering what you guys thought in terms of grade/value. My grading on victorian cents is usually way off, but to me looks like g6 pitted?

Secondary question does pitting on the coin like the significantly devalue the coin like holing does? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the replies, I think I'll go with key bank because there is one in Watertown and I am not driving, I am not really looking for silver, I'm trying to get a box of pennies. I miss pennies :( Also want to grab a roll of quarters, halves and nickels, as well as a $2 bill.

I currently reside in Canada, and am heading down to Watertown NY and was wondering what bank I could go to to get some coins. I once had someone else ask one time and the bank said we needed an account. Anyone have any branch recommendations?

Thank you very much for the info, this was driving me crazy, I am now unsure if I want to include this in my collection as there is no visual distinction between the 1997 and 1997 w. I will have to think on it. My original goal is to have one of each nickel from the coins and canada list.

I am having a difficult time locating a 1997 W nickel. Coinsandcanda says it exists, but eBay hasn't had any as far as I can tell, and I haven't been able to find in one in any other online stores either. Does anyone have any info on where I can.
