I recently came across this coin in a larger lot of "uncleaned coins", and I cannot identify it. Any information would be helpful. Thank you!

I'm not sure this will work for all posts. What I mean is that when you have something that is unidentified, you may have numerous people who have some input on what you have. This just happened to me. I had an old Roman coin to identify, and the community here was able to identify the obverse, but no one had identified the reverse. So now I have a Roman coin, still not fully identified, in a different forum. In my opinion, this should be optional, and up to the original poster to move their topic to the appropriate forum. Thank you for letting me express my opinion. :)

ancientcoinguy: what do you mean by "silver wash"? Also, I will try to upload a better pic of the reverse.

ancientcoinguy: Thank you so much for the information. I have 1 question though; what is the RIC 213 supposed to mean? Thank you!

Hello, Community! I have a Libertas Americana Medal, how do I tell if it is a restrike or the real thing? Besides the pictures I have provided, here is what I know for certain: It weighs 25.6 grams, it is slightly larger then an Eisenhower Dollar, the edge is completely smooth, not reeded or lettered, and is NOT magnetic at all. If anyone could let me know if this is the real medal, a restrike, and what is is worth, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

To cwb8539: The rest of the coins are just fine, this was the only one out of 2 pounds of silver, so I'm thinking the seller may not have known.

I would recommend Numismedia.com, although to use their site you need to know the approximate grade of the coin. Ebay would be another place to look. I hope that helps!

Hello, I came across this coin in a purchase of "junk" silver coins on ebay, and I'm thinking it's not real. The date doesn't look right, and it weighs only 11.6 grams. Any help would be appreciated, Thank you!

To biokemist6: The color actually looks like silver, it is very bright, the scans just made it look funny. What exactly is this Specific Gravity and Tissue Test you mention? I have never heard of them. Thanks!

Hello, I have this Presidential Commemorative, and I don't know much about it other than what you see in the pictures. It weighs 26.5g, and the edge is reeded, other than that, I'm in the dark about it. If anyone could please tell me exactly what this is, its composition, and a fair market value for it, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks Community!

Well, even though it is a fake, I will put it with the rest of the fakes I have and use them to educate others on Numismatic Forgeries and fakes! Thank you!

Hello, I came across this coin in a larger collection that I bought a while ago, I need to know if it is real or not. I tried comparing this to pictures I found online, but the only thing that seems to be off to me is the date, it looks too straight, like it doesn't follow the curve of the bottom edge of the coin. I also noticed that the edge is reeded. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hello, I came across several of these so-called Hobbled Bison Nickels. They are all from 2005 P, and this seems to be a legitimate error, but I have found no mention of it from any reputable company. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I have circled the area in question in red. Thank you!
