Received my 3x San Fran and 3x Denver Morgans today... very happy with the 3x San Frans, probably all 69 or 70. As for Denver, there are two that have similar marks on reverse... they are shavings barely attached to rim still... not sure what process creates this? These are dangling pieces barely connected on the rim still. I'm assuming this would count as damage to the coin?

Sorry abt image quality... using my iPhone.

Do you happen to know the year and issue number when they published anything about them? I'll let the guy know, if so! I'm talking with a Paul Gilkes.

Conder101 - I purchased them both from the dealer...I'm still doing some investigating and currently talking with Coin World magazine. They are intrigued by this because they've never heard of this release from the US Mint either.

Visited a new dealer today and they had something unusual that I've never seen before. It was from the US Mint and had a box and certificate of authenticity as well...an 1884-O Morgan Dollar. The strange thing is, it came in a green US Mint box from the mid to late 90's...I am attaching a picture of a similar box. Unfortunately, the dealer does not allow photos to be taken of his merchandise. I'm still trying to figure this one out...did the US Mint sell circulated Morgan's in the mid to late 90's? The certificate of authenticity was indeed from the US Mint...it stated "Previously Circulated Morgan Dollar" and had all of the marks of a legitimate piece of paper from the US Mint.

2017 Enhanced Uncirculated Set - Ellis Island Quarter Possible Error?

I think a dropped letter error is the only solution that I can come up with...what should I do? Leave it or send it off for grading/authentication? Not sure if the premium is worth the return...although it does seem like a pretty rare error.

Looking at it, it looks like something was laying on the planchet when it was struck...and then fell off after being struck.

Is the partial N raised or incuse into the coin?

It seems to be incuse. It doesn't seem very "deep" like a normal strike would be. It's almost a "ghost" of a strike if that makes sense. The strike through debris seems to make sense.

Needing help here...I was reviewing my 2017 Enhanced Uncirculated Set with a loupe and I noticed what looks like a misplaced partial strike of an "N" on the rim. Opinions are welcome...what are your thoughts? Is this considered "normal" or could this be some type of error? Any help is appreciated. Photos are included below.
