I must say, it was in a hanger or jewelry. In a proper hanger that is easy to close and open without harming the coin.. Maybe it might suggest some of the strange toning and different wear. In real life with good light it looks better. This coin was also with it, also in a similar hanger and toning is a bit the same.

The Victoria coin sits loose in the bezel so I can turn it a little bit. But very difficult to get it out I imagine without damaging the coin, maybe I will ask a jeweler someday to try and get it out properly. But for now I will leave it like this. Indeed it is from Australia as Numisrob pointed out, I did not know this when I made the topic so thanks for all the advice!
And indeed the prices for bullion and coins in general are extremely fluctuating last years. And I guess it will go even crazier with this war. Seeing all prices of commodity sore like crazy including gold, silver etc. |

Thanks for the reply and I understand + agree, this is why I was wondering too and post this topic haha hoping someone could clearify. Could they be contemporary counterfeits or just Chinese copy's? So many questions and options :)
The thing is, a counterfeit is not a copy and a copy is not the same as a replica and a replica not the same as a restrike etc & vice versa.. These days nothing surprises me which is being "faked" to fool or to fill an album. |

The edges are semi-rugged but smooth so no reeded. And indeed at least 3 of them look like they are made in a mold, but believe me they are all made out of silver! I triple checked it and the acid tests confirmed it, I even did the water test to determine how much silver is in it aproximatly. It would not appear to be silverplated..
"Cast copies could be made of silver, although this seems unusual."
How come? Silver is not that expenisve right?
