Great explanation by walk2dwater.
Like you said DBM, the H/A notes are not scarce (this is common knowledge, so updating the registry should have no effect on values). Someone started the registry for these notes years ago and had very few listed, so I added as many as I could from past auctions, and eBay listings to fill it out. There are probably quite a few (H/A notes, not J/A) on eBay now that haven't been added to my list. |

Quote: Beautiful coins! Love the 7/7. Again the 1870 this time seems under graded for the obverse to me but I assume the reverse affected the grade? I also have that 1872 in au50-55 graded but it might be hard to snag a pic in the slab. Thanks!
We are on the same page again, I'm also assuming the reverse limited the grade of the 1870. I don't have the 1872-H in hand at the moment, but if I am remembering correctly it's fairly flat without much luster. A nice coin for the grade though.
I take all my photos before submitting coins to ICCS because it's a real pain to try and photograph through the plastic flips.

Quote: Oh boy, more to look at C-B. My earlier post of the 1858 dime 5/5 variety is in about the same grade as your 1896. It makes one wonder how many coins like yours and ours are still to be found in somebody's abandoned structure forgotten in some chest or table, and then an urban explorer comes along and liberates these and other treasures before they get ruined. I've still got a few more to post! Yeah, there can't be many of these coins kicking around now, and that number continues to dwindle year by year I am sure.
Quote: Canadian-Banknotes I really like that 1902 5 cent coin the best but all are super coins.
Thanks! Yeah I really like that one as well. |
