Hello all,

Haven't posted in a while but I thought I'd share this Trade Dollar I found at a local shop while visiting family in Delaware. It is my first trade dollar I know she's not pretty but I was told it was used as a pocket piece for a very long time. Just wanted to share it and see what you all thought about it. (Paid $58, will weigh the coin when I get back to Vermont).

I Believe The Obverse has a Struck Through ?, Is It Incused, ?.
Is it Raised?

To the eye it looked raised but studying it under x10 it looks incused.

Sorry I don't know how to do the gray quote box. I need to get better at internetting

PS, The " First " posted photo, of The Reverse, Do I see Glare from The Camera OR Clashed Letters Above the Reverse First Two Stars, Below the Letters " ATES.....

Under lower magnification it looked like a scratch or a smudge but I think it could be lettering.

I can not find a Dansco 7171 album online. I guess it's time to call some coin shops.

Update.

Decided to collect a Morgan Dollar from every year regardless of mint.

Started out with 13 dates.

Still looking out for 1903, 1893 and 1895.

I have my eye on a 1903 but will likely splurge for a lowball or AG in the other two dates at Christmas or my birthday.

19 at a WaWa on the same trip

Hello,

Recently picked up this 1989 ASE. Looks like a possible strike through on the reverse to the left and above the stars. Also something to the left of the T on the obverse. Still new to collecting so thoughts and knowledge are appreciated.

Noticed a local gun store had silver in the display so took a look through their ASE's. Picked up a 1988, 1989 and 2014 for $5 over spot. The 88 looks really nice and the 89 appears to have a strike through error on the reverse. Which forum do you recommend I post a question about the 89 on?
