No, it's not a drill hole rather an indent/mark. The photograph definitely accentuates the mark to seeming like that though.

Right, Blast White is wrong the wrong term, extreme luster is more appropriate. I see no signs of it having been cleaned though. Can any of you who thinks it's cleaned be more specific in what you are seeing please?

Wow! Really, you thinks it's a not Cull. That's promising news. I assumed the uniformed marks around the Reverse Edge was a dead wringer for a Cull. Thanks.

First 2 photo's are extremely close to actual appearance of this 1881 H Canada 50 Cents Coin. The Obverse contains a little less peripheral lavender and(but) a deeper yellow in The Mark.? Tape? Lacquer? The Coin was purchased from a seriously top tier numismatic outfit that used this third photo (white border) to advertise it.

If I am dealing with photos only then, I assess the coin myself up to EF45, the TPG is secondary. AU50 and up and not in my hand I rely on the TPG. I have found ALL the TPGs to be Inconsistent in and among themselves and each other. My most valuable tool is my own experience and knowledge, which takes time to acquire. If you are concerned about a particular coin then I would suggest putting up a Good photo or link and submitting it to this forum for opinions.

In The Hand it's all Rainbows on The Obverse with an overall "purplish" aura. The Reverse is all grey but completely flat. I cannot say if there was an attempt at artificial toning or perhaps cleaned or both or neither.

Thank you. Nice to have some confirmation on the Obverse 2. Yes, I refer to Coins and Canada quite often each day. Obverse identification is difficult for me in the lower grades. Any comment on the grade? Thanks Again.

I acquired this 1888 up sight unseen. This Coin was reported as an Obverse 2 F12. But I believe it to be closer to a VG10 than an F12.
The Coins has been Cleaned. Can anyone confirm the Obverse as a an Obverse 2?

Yes, those Hairlines are worrisome. If it has been cleaned it would have been quite some time ago being there is an excellent patina on both Obverse and Reverse. If you are correct then that will be painful. Won this 1905 on an eBay auction from a long time Reputable New West Coin Dealer, who have always specified their cleaned coins as such. I'll earmark this one for my out going ICCS coins to be graded, Thank You.
